VALLEY
FEVER
Mischief and myself are doing great! I
took Mischief in to Dr. Buzz and had a blood test done. Initially, I was
concerned because she was running a temperature but, I think there has only been one time
she hasn't ran a temperature at the vet. She gets very nervous....and excited.
Buzz wasn't concerned because we did have to wait a while before he could get to us
and she has been acting great, eating and playing alot! I got the valley fever
results yesterday and she is 1 out of 4 on the scale they use. I said, "Okay,
what does that mean?"
Buzz told me its it's a very mild positive- however it could be residual or she could even
be in remission. (All of this is so hard for me to understand) I was hoping the test
results would come back negative. The treatment we've decided to use is to
keep doing what I've been doing, and that is the Solid Gold, cod liver oil, and 2,000 mg.
of vitamin C each day. If I notice her start to sleep alot or lose her appetite I
need to bring her back to the vet for another blood test, I guess valley fever is known to
flare up again sometimes. Mischief really looks good,
she has gained alot of weight ( she is up to 67 pounds) and her hair is so soft and shiny,
but most of all she is acting healthy. She is so playful!
With Mischief I started out with either 500 or 1000 mg. of Vitamin C
a day and worked up to 2000 mg. per day.
